Check These Things Before You Call Us

At least once or twice on the first hot day of summer, one of our service techs arrive on a cooling service call only to find out the problem was something really simple that the owner could have resolved. These simple issues include:

  • Check your thermostat settings: Make sure your thermostat is "ON", is set to "COOL", and the desired room temperature is set higher than the current ambient temperature.
  • Make sure your system has power: Check you circuit breaker panel to ensure that your heating system breaker is "ON".
  • Check your indoor furnace or air handler system switch: Make sure your "SYSTEM SWITCH" is set to "ON". This switch is typically a traditional toggle switch that may have a RED cover-plate.
  • Is your furnace or air handler filter clean? Change your furnace filter and re-start your furnace.
  • Give it a few minutes after restoring power: If you thermostat was or the system power was off, after turning the system on give it a few minutes; many AC systems have a time-delay function on start-up.
  • Is your outdoor coil dirty? If your system is blowing cool air, but not cooling as well as it should, check your outdoor unit to ensure there is nothing blocking airflow through the outdoor coil. PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful not to damage the fines on your outdoor coil and call us if you need help!

After checking these items, if your AC System is still not running properly call us day or night and we’ll dispatch a service tech to help! These are common air conditioning service items we help Georgia homeowners with:

  • Air conditioning is not turning on or not cooling
  • Indoor temperature too hot or too cold
  • Some rooms are properly conditioned and some are too warm
  • Indoor coil or refrigerant lines covered with heavy frost or ice
  • Breaker to the outdoor has unit tripped more than once
  • A persistent vibration or odd noise with the outdoor or indoor unit
  • Thermostat not working properly

We will thoroughly evaluate your air conditioning system and prepare thorough job estimate. All of our AC services come with a 100% Guarantee.

If your AC system is fine today but you want more peace of mind, consider our air conditioning maintenance agreements. Before the cooling season, we’ll perform a complete air conditioning check. We’ll inspect your system, if necessary clean your indoor and outdoor coils, change your indoor air filter, inspect your refrigerant lines, and test run your system to ensure proper operation. A properly maintained air conditioning system is more efficient, more reliable. For more information about preseason AC tune-up program, click here.
