Mini Split Heat Pump Tune-Ups & Maintenance

To ensure that your mini split heat pump is both reliable and operating at peak efficiency you’ll need to have it maintained properly. Don’t wait until something goes wrong! Rather depend on Economy Heating & Air to schedule a ductless heat pump tune-up. Proper cleaning of filters and coils will ensure that you're getting the highest possible efficiency from your system.

Mini-Split Tune-up Checklist

A ductless system tune-up will vary based on the specific types and configurations in you application, but a typical checklist includes:

  • Inspect the refrigerant lines and the insulation of the refrigerant lines. Ensure that refrigerant lines are properly secured.
  • Ensure the outdoor unit is level and draining properly.
  • Examine the outdoor unit blower.
  • Inspect the outdoor unit coil for damage or anything that might obstruct airflow and clean as necessary.
  • Check all indoor units to ensure they are level to ensure proper condensate removal
  • Inspect the indoor units and filters for dirt or debris and clean as necessary
  • Examine the indoor blower systems in ducted systems
  • Check the condensate lines and any condensate pumps in the system
  • Check the outdoor safety disconnect
  • Test wired thermostat (if used) and remote control operation and replace any remote control batteries as needed.
  • Start-up system and test operation. Test the operation of each indoor unit in both heating and cooling mode.
  • Clean-up: we'll clean up our work areas and make sure everything is neat and tidy before we leave.
